50 mm f1.8

I have rediscovered my 50 mm f1.8 lens today and i felt i would like to blog about it. Its such a magical lens. If anyone is considering purchasing new lens and are not sure where to start then 50 mm f1.8 (or f1.4) is my warmest recommendation. Its a fixed lens- there is no zoom. Some people might consider this as disadvantage but i think i doesnt matter. It forces you to be more creative and when you cant zoom you can take step forward or step back. The quality of this lens is superb and most importantly, its wicked cheap! I bought it about 100 Euros from Amazon (and its a Nikon lens for Nikon).

Wall of Junction Festival 2010

I loved taking photos of Junction Festival- i had time of my life working and having fun at the same time. I took time off from office for the festival week and committed myself 100% for photographing. Every morning start early and edit previous day photos and upload them to my website. Then going out and starting the day… and if someone thinks there is not much going on and there is no way a photographer can be busy for this then they are oh-so-wrong. My days started early with editing and uploading and ended late with partying and socialising with other festival participants. During the day i was trying to get everywhere (which was always not possible). There is a lot going on for Junction Festival for 10 days- there are cafes and every one of them has their own programme, there are performers and artists from day to night…!

I couldnt be more grateful for having this opportunity to photograph a festival.

Wall of Music

Looks like i have gone all wall mad now. Im trying to organise my photos and that means im going through old ones and it gives me ideas…. like posting photo walls to my blog.

Wall of Toys

Again i am surprised how many photos of toys i have taken in past. Toys are one of the reason why i started taking photography more seriously. Toys were my first practice with composision, light and DOF. I havent done toy photography for at least a year now but i still i have LOT OF TOYS!!! And im looking forward for Xmas break when i have more time.

I am staying in Ireland for Xmas, one week i am going to spend time in my house with Brian with pizza, beer and DJ HERO 2 and other PLAYSTATION GAMES!

Then i have two weddings around Xmas so there ill be bit of work as well.

I will take time for personal photo projects- probably self portraits, toys and hopefully will be able to get a volunteer for the photoshoot!

Im trying to take as little work as possible so i can enjoy the break and do MY OWN PROJECTS!

Wall of Portraits

I was going through my photos today and decided to create a photo wall with portraits i have taken.  Its amazing how many of them i have! There was no way i could have chosen my best ones or tried to fit them all to this page! There is no certain preference or reason why i have added these portraits. Its very random- some of them are taken when i just started photography and got to know the light techniques (not that i would know much now), some photos from Junction Festival 2010, some photos from the photoshoots i have been paid for, some photos from the photoshoots with friends, some photos from weddings.

They are all random photos but each of them has their own story and  each of those photos mean something for me. Some of them might mean a new start in my photography or some of them mean little eureka moments and some of them have been so important that they have helped me to develop my career.

Im wondering howthese photos would look on a big print?

I love people and i want to take more and more portraits!
