Pen and Pixel Award + Hippie the Cat
… not a good combination! She actually broke it, but it’s OK I will glue it back together. You can see from her face that she is is going to brake it in few seconds! I have more photos of the Pen and Pixel award because it’s just so photogenic! Thanks again for the photogenic award!

Week in Review- what i loved and what was inspiring
1. Long Time Exposure Calculator- if you own iPhone then get this app. It’s brilliant for cloudscapes and seascapes (when you are using long exposures with ND filters). It’s a free app!
2. Lomo Heaven- get new cameras and view lomo photos here
3. Vintage Cameras- I dont know which one to pick. One of those Minoltas here or one of those Sears Towers here. Can anyone suggest? 🙂
4. Photographer Dmitri Kotjuh- his photos inspire me a BIG TIME. Look at his website here

Spring is nearly here! I have seen so many flowers blooming everywhere already. Me and Hippie like this 🙂 Its strange that it’s still severe cold in Estonia, -25 something… :O

Story of Hippie the cat
July 2010- i adopt homeless cat and call her Hippie. She is my sunshine, makes me laugh and she is also my model. She stays home alot. She never stays out overnight. She likes her plastic mouse because it looks like a real one. She loves sleeping on top of the radiator until she gets so dizzy from the heat that she just falls off. She likes ALL the people in estate- she communicates with everyone and is VERY friendly. Kids are mad about her. She likes to spy the birds from the kitchen window. She can never catch them when she is outside as she has a bell around her neck. She is waiting for me every morning at my bedroom door and wants cuddles. And every morning she drinks from the bathroom tap. She likes to play with the shower, sometimes i leave it flow and she will spend ages discovering the water flow. She loves paper bags and spends time in them.
10th Febr, THU- I am bringing Hippie to doctors to get her nurturing done. After the surgery doctor tells me that he didn’t find the uterus and she probably already had a surgery (i couldn’t have known that as i adopted an homeless cat). Hippie is so dizzy and sleeps all day and also the next day. I’m worried my head off.
12th Feb, SAT morning- I let her out as she DEMANDS this. As her personality i believe she will take a short walk around the estate and come back. But no. She won’t be back in the evening. It’s not like her at all. I’m upset and very worried because she is still dizzy and weak. She turns up Sunday morning.
She is strange and keeps very distant from me, she doesn’t wait me at my bedroom door in the mornings and she barely eats. I try not to bug her too much..
15th Feb, TUE- I let her out again in the afternoon. She won’t be back in the evening. I’m not too worried, she needs her space. She won’t be back next day either, and also Thursday. Now I’m getting worried.
17th Feb, THU – i put up posters with her picture and my phone number. Someone texts me half twelve midnight when I’m already asleep that they saw my cat. Ahhh at least i know she is alive.Thank you!
18th FEB, FRI- I get back from the office and my neighbour rings my doorbell. She says that she doesn’t like my cat “doing her business” in her garden. I look at her and say that i haven’t seen my cat for days… Then I basically run to her backgarden and see my cat “doing her business” and i want to kiss my neighbour! But i won’t, I’m just very happy and thank her. She brightens up a bit as well as i promise to clean “my cats business”!
If that would be possible i would never take away what nature has given for animals (but it’s not possible because I know it would be harder to manage million kittens). I can imagine how hard it is for Hippie and I see her being changed so much. I hope she will be back to herself soon.
Ahh i hope I don’t sound like a crazy cat-woman now…. But it’s not only about the cats. I love all the animals and i strongly believe that every country should have proper animal protection laws. I belive people who mistreat animals are dangerous for the society and that they are psychologically inbalanced and should be punished.

… my xmas morning…
In Esonia we actually celebrate Xmas today, its the day for presents and Xmas dinner.
Here’s few photos from this morning…
This a biscuit cake. It’s not really a Xmas food in Estonia. It’s more like a food for Children’s birthday parties. It’s very easy to make it and really really tasty! (Just square-shaped biscuits, youghurt mixed with strawberry mousse or cream and berries! I’m not going into detail, anyone needs a recipe, you know how to find me :)).
Jelly with berries- fresh cream goes on top of this and it’s loooooovely!

This one of the typical Estonian Xmas food. I know, it doen’t look tasty, but actually it is very tasty and i don’t know any Estonian who wouldn’t eat this! It’s sour gabbage by the way.
This is how my cat is spying the birds from the window. I had a bad surprise this morning when i discovered a dead bird and a dead mouse from my garden. My cat has a bell around her neck so she can’t catch anyone but neighbours cat doen’t have a bell and for some reason he brings the dead animals to my garden. Is he trying to show off to my cat…?
